This book "Key Chess Puzzles, Sacrificial Chess" consists of 60 chess puzzles. Of these 20 can be solved in 2 moves; 28 can be solved in 3 moves; 8 can be solved in 4 moves and finally 4 puzzles are swap down puzzles. To simplify the search for a Solution in many of the puzzles the Player playing the Black pieces does not have a first move. White must provide such a move. This book is intended to be Instructional as well as entertaining. Each puzzle is accompanied with an extensive analysis to convey the mental process that an experienced player follows in achieving Check Mate, Also included in the book is a list of all of the Men who have held the Title of World Chess Champion. Also details of these individual's lives are also included as a matter of interest. It is this writer's fervent hope that any reader who happens to pick up this book and reads enjoys it and learns something important about the game at the same time.


About the Author

This writer has self published nine (9) books. The current book makes it ten books. These books have been about poetry; chess; a western; a fictional sea story; two biographical / historical sea stories and a book about a gangster in New York back in the Al Capone days. There are two other books written but not submitted for publishing. One of these books is about the life of a family member as a prisoner of War during World War II and another one is about the rescue of a Cruiser's survivors during World War II after the Cruiser was sunk in Kula Gulf in the Solomon Islands. This is a tale of incredible valor. This writer grew up in Texas in the days of the Long Horn Steers. At that time Texas was the Frontier. Two and a half years were spent delivering newspapers in all kinds of weather up at 4 o'clock in the morning seven days a week. As a young adult six years was spent in the US Sea Going Navy two of which were in a combat destroyer squadron in the early days of the Pacific War. After the War this writer was a Teamster in JImmie Hoffa's biggest driver local in the Los Angeles area. This was followed by six years as an Aerospace Engineer. Three of those years were spent on the Apollo Project (The Flight to the Moon) as an Engineer. Three other years were spent on a second Aerospace Project. Later this Writer was employed as a Traffic Engineer trying to help move vehicles on the Nations Highways safely and efficiently. Currently in Retirement this writer devotes time writing and self publishing Books; a labor of love.
