Teagan is a servant and slave for the richest family on Beasly. She has been shuffled from family to family all her life. She always performs the menial tasks, always faces the silent, hate-filled eyes of her owners. She lives and eats with the menials and slaves, who esteem her as someone special. She shares their fare and access to the knowledge of Beasly. They see a purpose in the girl. They prepare her for greatness. She is eighteen years old and beautiful. Her beauty is carefully and wisely concealed beneath dirt and rags. Soon enough the young men will cast an eye her way. Soon enough she must fight for her life. The forests of Beasly will be her haven. Already the elders have made plans and prepared a place for her to run. But Teagan acts like a precocious child. She is suspicious of most but yearns for the company of young men. She has a love for beautiful gardens and helpless animals. She has a curiosity for just about everything and a passion for life bordering on the fanatic. Servitude tempers her spirit; it does not break it. She will be hard to protect.

About the Book
Teagan is the seed of the Tyrant Emperor Bohannon. She lives on the planet Beasly. Teagan is a servant, slave, and a dangerous secret. She is eighteen and it's time for her to take the throne from her father. Haven has been purged of all life because she might exist and because the emperor had a dream. He dreamed of the two moons of Haven over the shoulder of a woman he does not know. In the dream the woman takes his throne and his life. Teagan has the black rose of Bohannon tattooed on her shoulder blade and the population of Beasly knows exactly what they have in their midst. It's for her to find support and win the throne. Teagan looks to the crowd. “The emperor rules the land but I rule your heart. Which is stronger, the soil or the plow? I say to you the plow turns the soil and the heart rules the plow. Be patient my love, the Queen of Light will rule.
About the Author
Robert Dean Vaughn has been writing in his spare time since the early eighties when the personal computer reached a comfortable stage of development. He was raised in California just south of San Jose. A four year stint in the Air Force then high tech production and development work starting in 1965. Electronics and computers have been his life. He retired in 2003 and writing is his only hobby. He is writing full time now and science fiction and fantasy seem to be his genre.
