A Bathtub Full of Tears Many days, months and years of experiences had build up on this body of mine and yes there was a lot of dirt I wouldn’t take a bath due to me rushing all the time so I would settle for a hot shower, for I was thinking the water could wash away my pain There were many nights that my mind would race and all I could do was think of all of the bad choices and mistakes I had made in my life It was crazy for me to believe that as the water ran across my pain filled body that all of my burdens would leave when the water ran down the drain To prevent the rest of the household from knowing that I was having a moment I would often find myself yearning to take a shower; only so I could hide my fears I didn’t want anyone to know that I was crying like a big baby and that I was reliving my past So I would run to the only hiding place I knew; a place where God would only see me; a place where I could shed my tears One day, out of the blue I got the urge to run to my healing place I grabbed my towel, lit a candle and went to the zone – my healing sanctuary I wasn’t stressed, upset, scared; hmm I didn’t even have any regrets All I knew is that I had a giggle in my voice, pep in my step and I had a date - God and me As I waited patiently for the water level to raise so I can take a bath A sense of peace had come over my mind, soul and body I listened to the rhythm of the water flowing from the faucet into the tub For today has been a day where I finally realized God has always loved me I placed my hand in the tub to check the temperature and the water level, I didn’t want it too hot and I wanted to leave room so it wouldn’t overflow I poured in some off brand bubble making mixture The aroma of the this odd combination was so soothing and I knew today this bath was going to be such a delight I couldn’t wait to cut the light off and ease my body into that water filled elixir As my left foot went in goose bumps came and when my right foot went in I felt the same A sense of calmness came when the rest of my body went into that bucket of relaxation All of a sudden tears, a lot of tear drops started pouring out my eyes I was doing so much shaking; it was as if I was sitting at the depot of a train station having fun When the moment of cleansing was over and the candle was starting to go dim I bowed my head down to pray to God and I had asked Jesus in a humble way, to pass the words on to the Father, you know the ones that I say I heard the sound of a rushing wind, I felt a breeze on my face, and peace was coming from within After the prayer was over a low Amen came out of my shivering lips and “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” was whispered into my ears I opened up my eyes and to my surprise the water level had raised and water was running onto the bathroom floor for I had filled a bathtub full of tears

I had experienced some good, bad, ugly and unexpected relationships and marriages, but when I finally waited on God, my “Personal Adam” found me. I was hooked at a fish fry…. I believe red snapper was on the menu. As you read through these pages, I pray that you will find the desire to stop settling for less, the courage to reflect back on your life and the patience to wait for God to bless you with your true soul mate.
About the Author
T. W. Spalding currently resides in Huntsville, AL with her handsome and loving husband, Thomas (TJ). She is the mother of two beautiful daughters, Toneka and Karmyn. T. W. Spalding began her writing career at a young age. She would find peace and comfort when she would write in her journal. She began writing her thoughts on paper, because she felt no one would understand her or want to listen to her. One day while writing in her journal, she realized in a funny, but weird kind of way that the pages in her journal rhyme. She started to share her writings with many people and when she was told she was a poet, she always responded with these words, “These are just my thoughts on paper that just so happen rhyme,” and then she would giggle softly. T.W. Spalding is a survivor of sexual abuse, betrayal, domestic violence, rage, mental illness, divorce, low self-esteem and other insecurities that would prevent the average person from succeeding or hinder a person from experiencing true happiness. She has overcome many obstacles in her life and by God's grace, mercy and constant prayer she has finally arrived. T.W. Spalding is on a mission to spread the good news that you can "flip the switch" on the negative things that life throws at you and turn those things to something positive. T.W. Spalding prays that all of her "My Little Woven Thoughts" will enhance someone's marriage, encourage someone to let go of their past, and last but not least prevent men and women from settling for less in any area of their life, especially love. T. W. Spalding is well known for her motivating, uplifting and inspirational writings, crafts, and other uniquely designed love tokens that will be available in the near future.
