About the Author
Cindy is a retired elementary teacher who spent 36 years sharing good literature with Kindergarten and First Grade children. She has a Bachelors Degree in Education and her Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education. Her Masters work focused on integrating children’s literature into all areas of the curriculum. After her retirement, she spent three years following the Dobson sheep, and documenting the historic Heber-Reno Sheep Trail in Arizona with her photographs. This is her third book about the trail. In her first book, Emily Walks the Sheep Trail, a young lamb named Emily tells about her experiences walking the trail with her mom. In the second book, Alfonso Grows Up on the Sheep Trail, Alfonso is a very young burro being introduced to his job as a pack burro on the trail. He shares his adventures with six older burros, and the challenges of a 220 mile walk. In this third book, Mickey the Sheep Dog, the story is told by a border collie who works with the sheep on the trail and at the ranch. Mickey introduces you to the traits of working sheep dogs, and to border collies that compete in sheep dog trials.
