What You See At The Park

As the entire family gazes at the cascading waters flowing from the fountain, the evidence of a severe thunder storm off in the distance, they enjoy a moment of quiet. Abigale breaks the silence and says to her mom and dad, “So this is where it all began.” Abigale’s uncle points to a bench not far from where they were standing, and says, “See that bench over there Abigale, I was seated on that bench when your mom and dad first met. To make the story of a troubling time of my life short, I went from a troubled kid that day to the proud owner of a lobster boat named Miss Abigale. I couldn’t be happier.” Her mom says, “This is where it all began for your father and I and someday you’ll have a day, just like it.” “Not so fast mom but if that day ever comes, I want it to turn out the same way yours did,” replied Abigale. “No rush princess,” her dad said softly, “Your mother and I have to leave to take care of some very important business Abigale. Enjoy the rest of the day at the park with your uncle.” As Abigale and her uncle walk through the park together, Abigale asked, “What was so troubling at that time of your life?” “I don’t mind the question Abigale,” her uncle said, “I think it’s very honest.” Pointing to a different bench than the one near the fountain, Abigale says, “How about that bench? You can tell me all about it there.” “That’s a good spot Abigale,” her uncle said, “You will be the first one to hear about it.”
