You can appear to have it all but have nothing. At the same time, others seem to have nothing but have it all. Dream big! Pursue success! Be ambitious! Seek things in this life but never let the things that you desire have their hold on you. Your greatest treasure is a life well-lived, in which God is the center of it. When you are yoked to God, you can never be yoked to anything else. When you are yoked to God, you are the richest person. Even when you lose all your earthly position, you still have it all. Your struggles are not meant to keep you stagnant, but they are designed to make you grow. As you get taller, which is symbolic of physical growth, struggles are necessary to develop your character, which is symbolic of your spiritual strength. The more difficult that your circumstances in life are, it is the more resilience that they will create in you. Your challenging circumstances give you the adaptability to overcome the yoke that has been placed on you. The yoke that was placed on Esau by Isaac was only the unveiling of what started in the womb. However, the yoke that was placed on Esau had an added component! A yoke was never meant to be permanent! Every yoke can be broken. No one can break it from you! You always have the power to break free! It is always inside of you! The yoke that is placed on you is not greater than what is inside of you! It cannot stop what is inside of you! Your destiny is greater than the yoke that is waring against you, to enslave you. It is greater than the womb that Satan is trying to trap you in. You determine the time and season when you break free from the yoke. The yoke has no power over you! As humans, you are physical beings living in a physical world. Your sensory is linked to your surroundings. You may experience attacks on the physical being, but the nature of the yoke is spiritual, designed to enslave the spiritual being! A yoke can look like something that you think is from God but is of Satan. What a yoke does is that it prevents you from experiencing the greatest fulfillment that only comes through God. The first time that yoke is mentioned in the bible was under a very unusual circumstance after Esau sold his birthright to Jacob for some soup (Genesis 25:34). Jacob then disguised himself as Esau so that Isaac could bless him. A yoke is always associated with deception. It is not what is being said but who is saying it. The problem is that many of you do not learn to discern whose voice that you are hearing. Satan is the father of lies, and he knows how to sugar coat any lies to make them appear as truth. Quite often, people try to discern what is being said and not who is saying it; this is the major downfall of most people. Pg 20-22

THE POWER OF THE YOKES allows you to tap into deeply hidden emotions and gives you a new perspective on how the enemy can entrap you. Every unconfessed sin creates an open door for you to be yoked by Satan. It teaches you that God may not spare you from pain, but He will never abandon you. God uses your pain to mold you and prepare you for a harvest. This book reassures you never to give up, and that even when it seems like God is silent, He is holding you in the palm of His hands. When you are yoked, you are only a shadow of who God says you are. The things that yoke you do not define you but build character in you. Everything that happens to you as a child affects and carries through the rest of your adult life.
About the Author
Carlton Foster serves as the senior pastor at the Church of God of Prophecy English in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. He is the author of the book DESTROYING THE YOKES, the sequel to THE POWER OF THE YOKES. At the age of seven or eight, he came under violent attack by the kingdom of darkness, which physically impacted his life. He had a profound supernatural encounter at age ten, when he heard the voice of God admonishing him to repent of his sins. He immigrated in 1981 and joined the Church. He served faithfully in various ministries until God transitioned him into pastoral ministry. Carlton Foster wrote this book after enduring the anguish of early childhood sexual abuse. He believes it is in his brokenness that God finds a vessel unto honor and that he is not too tattered for God to use him.
