It is true - Rahab lived a sinful life as a harlot, but God saved her, her family, and she became the ancestor to JESUS CHRIST! Yes, Rahab is in the Hall of Fame, the Book of Hebrews 11:31. People like to throw stones at sinners, especially whores. But, what about the “johns?” I have a word of caution to those who feel this way. Regardless of its size, Sin is Sin.
You may be in one of the following categories: attend church every Sunday and through the week; teach Bible classes; sing in the choir; pay tithes on a regular basis; give extra offerings; help paint the church; clean the church; participate in plays at the church or the community; mow the law; wash the car; walk the dog; paint the house; go to work; help feed the poor; donate funds to various charity organizations; help needy neighbors/others; drive non-family members to the doctor/hospital; clean the carpet; visit ailing relatives/friends at the rest home; and so-on. If there is any type of sin in your life, all the good you are doing will not save you!
You may be in one of the following categories: dating multiple girlfriends/boyfriends at the same time but keeping it real; avoid hurting feelings by telling little white lies; loaning money to others but expecting favors; living a double life but within your rights; faithfully married but occasionally date others; hanging out while buying drinks for others; telling a few little dirty jokes while quoting Bible Scriptures; searching the internet for repair shops while dabbing into pornography sites; admitting mistakes but can’t stop sinning; justifying your mistakes by bringing flowers and gifts; embarrassed because the spouse is fat but you’re bald headed; take the spouse to dinner but hold your head down; can’t think of anything nice to say to the spouse but you talk on the cell phone to others; take out the family while desiring to be some where else; and so-on.
If you have not repented of your sin (no matter what the sin may be), you are out of out-of-fellowship with God. You cannot fight your battle alone, and you need the Lord. Look at Rahab’s life. Truly, it was horrible but GOD TURNED HER LIFE AROUND. IT DOES NOT MATTER WHO OR WHAT YOU ARE…GOD LOVES YOU AND HE WILL FORGIVE YOU!
