About the Book

The book Surfing The Tarot (Tapping Into Your Oracle) presents several ideas that show you how to better understand yourself, stretch your imagination and tap into the Wisdom of the Universe using the Major Arcana Cards of the tarot.

            The book is divided into four parts.  In the first part of the book, the author presents her own commentaries on the twenty two Major Arcana Cards.

            Her commentaries are powerful and sometimes amusingly tongue-in-cheek.  They are worth reading and re-reading.

            Part II instructs the readers how to formulate their own commentaries for each card of the Major Arcana.

            Part III and IV show the readers how they can utilize the wisdom of the tarot cards in their daily lives.

            They can use the cards for self empowerment, for guidance and for helping to bring about the manifestations of their hopes and dreams.

            This book can be used for reference as well as an ongoing workbook.

About the Author

Phyllis is a Certified Voyager Tarot Consultant. She received her certifiction from Dr. James Wanless, the Director of the Voyager School of Tarot in 2002. She took advanced studies with James Wanless and his partner Elisa Lodge on the Big Island of Hawaii where she studied bringing the Tarot to Life mornings and afternoons swam with the dolphins and had many other adventures such as walking lava fields, swimming in volcanically heated pools and honoring the Goddess Pele at the crater where she is said to reside.

Phyllis's original tarot teacher was Eileen Tish about fifteen years ago and to whom she credits with teaching her the basics of tarot. Eileen is still helping Phyllis grow as a professional reader and consultant.

Phyllis studied with Wald Amberstone, the co-founder of The Tarot Sclool for two years and she received a certificate in Tarot Meditation Practices from The Tarot School. She completed numerous seminars in tarot related subjects that were sponsored by or taught by Ruth Ann and Wald Amberstone, the Directors of The Tarot School.

Phyllis has worked professionally at Pastimes, a new age store in Forest Hills, New York, owned and operated by Shelley Wolinsky. She is very grateful to Ms. Wolinsky for giving her the opportunity to utilize her skills and meet some remarkable  people. At Pastimes, Phyllis studied tarot with psychic consultant, Robert Alvarez.

 Phyllis is a published author and an award winning poet. She holds a Bachelor's Degree and a Master's Degree from New York University.

She is currently teaching speech communication at Queensborough Community College in Bayside, New York.She lives in Queens with her partner Richard and her Yorkie-poo Keisha. This is her first book on Tarot.
