WHY IS EVERYONE SELLING?
Have you ever stopped for a second to think about what would be the best job in the world for you? If you have, what did you come up with? Something publicly respected like the Presidency of the United States? Well, let’s talk about that job for a second. Your private life no longer exists for one thing.. You are consistently under public scrutiny and you have to deal with the bowels of the House of Representatives and the Senate. How about the Prime Minister of the U.K? Well, the pressures of Downing Street may be too daunting. How about the Head of a major corporation? Well, you are still in public view and if you are wrong on projections for shared growth, your job could be on the line. Rather stressful I would say.
Another alternative, most of us would think about these days is working in the technology arena. I am sure that it has not taken many of you a long time to realize how easily replaceable those jobs are. You can be assured that whenever there is a budget crunch, we, the consultants are first to be let go.
By now you may have exhausted your search or eliminated most of your well paying alternatives. I guess it is time for me to reveal the answer. The answer to the best job in the World is in this question; “which role must you have even if your company creates the most magnificent product in the World?” The answer is simply a “salesperson”. I can hear you saying Of course!, it is that simple, when someone tell you the answer from experience (which is what this book would do for you). Think about it for a second, of what use is the best manufactured product in the world if it is not sold?.
The greatest job in the world is the job of a sales person and you need to appreciate that because it combines independence with opportunity. It retains your privacy and has profitability. Until you realize this, you will be unable to step into a sales opportunity and make it work for you.
What is the role of a Salesperson?. Sales people bring the market to the consumer and conversely, the consumer to the market.
On the completion of the sales process you create a profit for yourself and a margin for the manufacturer. The more you do, the more you get paid and there is no glass ceiling to your income. You are truly rewarded based on your abilities and delivery. Your willingness to achieve excellence is rewarded with no “ism” by this I mean sexism, racism, favoritism, and no nepotism, limiting the possibility of your disappointments and mediocrity. if you were in a different role from sales today, ask yourself, why are foul games played? Why are people feeling manipulated?, why do people feel dissatisfied? Why do they want change in their jobs ever so often or why do you feel superiors take advantage of you despite your contributions in those jobs, you left behind? The leadership and pay is not necessarily based on people’s abilities and performance. I am sure you have heard the expression : the good old boys club”.
You see, in sales you have a chance to be the “go to” person. Sales production numbers are open and very revealing..........
